What is Spyware?

Spyware is any software program that secretly collects information from the computer on which it's installed and broadcasts the information back to an outside party that controls the program.

Spyware can cause increased spam or pop-up ads especially while other spyware programs can log your every keystroke or retrieve files on your PC—a serious threat to your privacy. And some of the most sophisticated spyware can continually mutate, making it difficult to remove. Click here to try our FREE spyware scanner.
